Congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI)

Congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by dysregulation of insulin secretion from the pancreas, leading to abnormally high levels of insulin in the blood. Insulin is a hormone that plays a key role in regulating blood sugar (glucose) levels by promoting the uptake of glucose into cells. In individuals with congenital hyperinsulinism, excessive insulin secretion results in hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels)
